2013 R1200RT Android Connection

I am trying to connect my Samsung to my 2013 R1200RT use Pandora playback on the audio system. I've tried a Type C to USB connector and a Type C to3.5mm plug connector, but haven't been successful with either one. I have been successfully using a flash drive, but I'm tired of that playlist.
What am I doing wrong or what do I need to do.
I'm not interested in using Sirius, I have it in another vehicle and I'm not a huge fan

I have a 2012 R1200RT. I'm not sure if it has the same connector in the "glove box" as yours or not, but this is what I use. It is similar to what r0ckrat linked to but with slightly different plugs, I think.

With this I am able to connect to it with my phone and play Spotify over the bike's audio system. It works really well from an audio standpoint. The wonder wheel works for volume control, but it does not work for previous/next track. You have to use the device itself or your phone to perform those actions. I'm not sure if the 2013 is different.
