1985 K75C unknown connector in fairing/headlight area

SGTBILL

The Big Red One
I recently picked up a '85 K75C with a sidecar. The bike has at least 137K miles. The odometer stopped working a couple years back. I replaced the odometer gears in the procedure available online with new gears from Odometer Gears. I have previously done this on a K100RS with a sidecar. Works great and pretty straight forward procedure.

Anyway, as long as I have the fairing apart I am inspecting the wiring and rubber bits and ordering replacements. I have a connector that isn't "connected" and its wires (blue and black) route through a hole in the fairing backing. There isn't an obvious mate for it to plug into. There is a blade near the fuses that doesn't have anything connected but this connector isn't that type.

I'm hoping one of our gurus recognizes this connector and knows where the other end is likely to be hiding...IMG_8414.jpegIMG_8414.jpeg

Bill,

None of that appears to be factory BMW wiring. It probably is related to the sidecar (turn signals, clearance lights, driving light, interior lights, etc.) It appears to be well done, possibly done by the sidecar maker/installer. Give them a call.
