I bought my first BMW (not my first motorcycle, though) late last October 2021. It is a nice 2014 BMW R1200RT with about 11,600 miles on it. Boxflyer did the 12k service with me, which was great! I've only ridden it three times so far - twice last fall, and once this month on a rare warm day. I just joined the MOA and am looking forward to riding my new toy a lot this summer and meeting others.

Here's a picture before I added a few farkles.

Welcome from the Tenn River valley, Señor Geek!

If you’re just a bit rusty in your skills set, try to take some training from these folks up your way:

Ken Condon & staff put on some good refresher training for any level of experience. Tis $$$ well spent. :thumb

Thanks, HSVPhil. I wouldn't admit to being rusty, but a new, bigger bike demands an increase in skills, definitely. And it never hurts to have more training. Thanks for the recommendation - I'll add them to my list. Right now, I'm working with ProRider (https://proriderwolfeboro.com) to see if they can get a Massachusetts class. I've also looked at Ride Like a Pro from Mass Motorcycle School (https://massmotorcycleschool.com).

Definitely going to take one of those 3 this summer. Any opinions on one over the other? I liked the challenge and variety that ProRider seems to offer.

Not an expert on M/C coaching in New England, but we know Ken Condon wrote for many years for Motorcycle Consumer News and we enjoyed his seminar at the RA Rally held in western Mass ten years ago. We also enjoyed a comprehensive 3-day weekend with his crewe: One full day out on the backroads of upper MA & lower VT w/intercoms, one day of supervised parking lot practice, and one intense day of Track Time with the staff at Tony’s Track Days. >>> https://www.training.ridinginthezone.com/non-sportbike-track-day-street-rider-training/ <<<!

Any serious m/c instruction is worthwhile, especially if you’re a bit “uncertain” with a bigger & newer machine... :brow

Happy Travels in 2022, Señor Geek!

Welcome geekmaster! Lovely bike. You have some beautiful country to explore. I think it was 202??? that we were traveling on by car and thought this would be a great ride on a bike. Thanks for the pic.
