Where to stop between Sault Ste-Marie and St. Paul?

On my way to the Rally, I will have to stop somewhere between Sault Ste. Marie and St. Paul.

Any recommandation?

And while we're at it, which route?

Just stayed here. $50 for night plus tax. Nice restaurant on site but check when open.

North superior of course then Hwy 61 - I35 to Minnie. Beaver motel in nipigon is good but lots of little mom pop places along the way

If I'm not mistaken, the Beaver Motel is in Wawa.
