I don't win much but the best thing was 1st place at a Halloween costume contest at a bar. It took me about 3 hrs and 10 bucks to make a giant male genitalia that
I shot a can of silly string out the top as a mermaid rubbed me. I beat out a Klingon warrior and a bunch of expensive costumes with my ghetto setup. I stood in line to get my prize I watched third place guy come out of the office with $250 then second place came out with $400. As I held out my hand waiting for money the manager hands me a piece of paper to sign and told me to collect my $500 gift certificate from a local jewelry chain. I had to go there and spend the money at the store. That sucked. I also had to claim that prize money on my taxes. 2nd and 3rd didn't. That also sucked.
I did use it to buy my mom a bracelet that I got back after 20+ years. It probably isn't worth $500 now but at least I got it back. It was cool to see her wear it for all those years.

I occasionally win a free ticket on the lottery but mostly don't match any numbers. Still hoping for the big one.

we are very proud to have won the two-up long distance award in Redmond 2001. It was Mary's first LD ride with me on a 1973 75/5 for 12,000 miles. We had the additional honor of camping out with the Black Sheep at the time. The two up award remains promenantly place in our home. We were hoping for the same this year but other things bumped us from the ride. Anyway, we are proud of that award. - Bob

In my entire life I've never won so much as a free order of fries on those rub off cards they sometimes give out at fast food places. Seriously, I have no memory of ever having won anything, ever.

I guy I work with is always winning stuff. He walks down the street and people give him prizes. He's won new skis, $1,000 gift cards, free Hawaiian vacations, a new snowmobile, free gas for six months, resort stays, airline passes, and just last week I went to lunch with him, and yes, a free drink on his stupid Subway sandwich rub-off card.

I won a 45 cal. muzzle loader at a bachelor party. The following deer season I shot two deer with that smoke pole.

PC

I won a $300 gift certificate for BMW parts and accessories at an open house at the local dealership a few years back. Also won a DVD-R player in a lotto draw.

Other than that, mostly just small petty stuff.

As far as I can remember, the largest prize I've ever won was a few hundred dollars doing karaoke at a bar away from home. I did it only because my co-worker (travel job) told me he would pay my bar tab if I sang. I ended up winning for best male singer. It's really more about picking a popular song than being a great singer. :)

I won $600 worth of gas cards after a promotion at work last year. When gas was pushing $4 per gallon, that was sweet.

I won the top door prize at the company picnic two years in row, a 35in tv each time, gave one to my son kept the other. Still working as I have not won the lottery yet.

Many years ago, I won a one day racing school course run by Michel Mercier at the Shannonville, Ontario race track. I had the time of my life on their Yamaha 600 and it made me a much better rider in the years following.

I've "won" a free 6" sub from Subway.. but didn't use the coupon in time.

Another time, I "won" a cookie, but forgot to present the coupon when I bought a sub, and when I went back up to the counter to show them, they wouldn't give me a cookie.

:cry

Apart from that, the only thing I've even won was a karma thread on here. I got some soft luggage bags.

...

But, my junior year high school English teacher has the most amazing list of winnings. From what I remember, at that time, it was something on the order of 30 vacations, 20 cars, and a slew of other things. After much prodding, she brought in a list of it all one day.

Big winnings

Earlier this week I won the lottery! Well I won $3.00 although I did pay $5.00 for the ticket. Is that considered a win?? :doh

I once got a chainsaw.. they drew my name for the SONY TV, but when they found out I won it, they gave me the second prize instead..and said the person that won the chainsaw wasnt eligible...
that wasnt right...

also the BOSS won the TV and then he later went to some obscure south african country whose name escapes me now..

I once won 110 .00 on the lottery.. Wife got it and I never saw her again.. If I had only known thats all it took....................

she later went with a 27 year old.. must be a reason for this...
that was wife number 2....snicker..

SO I ended up paying alot more than the 110.00 bucks.. but that was a good investment..
I am out of debt because of that...
:bottle

I won First place in a Bike show with my Cherry 1988 R100RS. I sold the bike two years ago, but still have the very large Trophey. the new owner sent me this picture when he returned home with the bike.

I won a Zumo GPS last year at the 49'er rally.

It was a great update from the old GPS V that I had been using on my touring bike. The GPS V is a true GPS warrior though. About 3 years ago the screen had went nuts and all it showed was a bunch of lines going across it. When I took the GPS off of the bike I could hear parts rattling around inside of it. Thinking for sure that it was dead I opened up the GPS and dumped out a couple of lose circuit board looking pieces. Just for grins I turned it back on. The thing came to life and is still working on one of my bikes. It coughed up an electronic hairball and kept working. How can you get rid of a trooper like that.

I won a $300 netbook in a charity raffle last year. Before that, I won a silve dollar when I was in the third grade (1953)

Lessee; there's a bit of a list. A weird pedal-powered 'surrey with a fringe on top' sidewalk vehicle when I was about 11. Although we had it for years, my bro & I never did get an engine installed in that sucker.

A 3-foot drag racing trophy that pissed off my then-gf when she got back from vacation and found out I went racing. That was in college.

As a BMW CCA member, an Escort radar detector & some other stuff at Oktoberfests.

The best thing might just be the set of new Yokohma tires a couple years ago at the 'CCA hospitality area at Road America. Any tires I wanted. Did you know there are $200/each Yokohama R compound track tires that fit an '87 535is? I do. ;)

Just got my federal income tax refund today. Don't understand it, but the refund is 3 times what they withheld. Whoopee, I can pay my property tax now. :laugh

$500 cash in a charity 5 for 500 drawing.

But my mom, well, she won a shiny black Dodge 4X4 extended cab truck at a local casino......
