So what is the weather like in Salt Lake in July ???

I've lived in deserts including the Mojave near Death Valley. 100* is hot no matter where you are. Shade and hydration are important, but the real solution is a/c or a swamp cooler. The thought of camping in SLC in July sends a chill up my spine... so to speak.

at least it will be pretty-like Spokane!

I grew up in Phoenix,AZ. Holding a rally in SLC in July is a feat of colossally uninformed geography.

But I've been to three national rallies and remember the heat of Redmond. At least SLC will cool down at night.

It will be hot. Continue to discuss all you wish, but it will be hot. Go or don't go. It will be hot. Like it or don't. It will be hot. Argue all you want. It will be hot. The Board will never learn. It will be hot.

Yeah, what he said! Humidity won't be bad though.

Look at it on the bright side. You won't need to spend any time debating if you need your heated gear.

If the barns are clean and they let you camp in them that's always a few degrees cooler. With the high ceilings and a slight wind you can get a good nights sleep.

BTW: When I go out West I always bring my heated gear.

I looked at the Rally forum for the first time today because we are thinking of attending in 2017.

Forums certainly bring the politics to light. My god - closing ceremonies, booing, too hot, etc.

Utah is by far my favorite State for riding. Albeit my reason to attend in 2017. I have camped at the Miller Motorsport with no negative memories.

Go or don't go because of the weather. Go or don't go because of politics. Go or don't go because of the grounds. Go or don't go because of the area rides. Go because of the people you meet. Go because of the things you learn. Go because of the fun you'll have. Did I say the great people you'll meet. I haven't been a member long, and I've only attended 2 rally's, but I've enjoyed them because of the people I've met.

I left my heated gear home once and was cold for 18 of a 21 day trip. :laugh

Remember, the higher the elevation, the cooler the temps.
