Replacement for K52 R1200RT?

The K26 BMW R1200RT was introduced in 2005 in the US, and was replaced by the K52 in 2014. The K26 was refreshed in 2010 with various changes including some engine changes.

If BMW adheres to the K26 schedule, then perhaps there will be a refresh (BMW calls it a "Life Cycle Impulse" aka LCI in the Bimmer world) in 2019, and a major model upgrade (K??) in 2023?

I'm thinking the usual update process will be sped up a little bit. There are changes to European emissions regulations that have to be met no later than January 1, 2021. BMW seems to roll out changes for the GS about a year earlier than the RT, so I'm expecting the GS to get the VVT engine no later than 2020. Best case, GS gets it in 2018, with the RT getting it in 2019.
