Got my HES back from GSAddict today, and I'm looking at some really nice work here. Beautiful wiring job, clearly a huge upgrade from the early-tech BMW OEM stuff I sent him, and well worth the wait. The new piece has a nice white insulated sheath which looks great and is clearly visible when you lace it up into the wire loom, and the frame and magnets are all cleaned and look like new.
The trick is to make a good scribe mark on the HES frame and the timing cover casing so you can re-align them when you put the HES back in. That way you don't have to re-set the timing, as you would if you bought a new one.
Note: This is not a quick turnaround; in my case it took about three weeks to get it from Texas to British Columbia and back. Our friend in BC does the job in one day and sends it right back, but your mileage may vary depending on how much you want to pay the USPS to send it up there. You shop and compare.
