R 1200 RT (2011) starts but shuts down after 1 second.

Having had it happen to me, I can tell you that the fuel injection shuts down if any of the fuel hose fittings are loose. Mine had a return line come loose and it stopped. They should be easy to check.

Sucking air

In your reply you mentioned having an air leak causing your bikes rough running.. do you recall where the air leak was or what component was creating the leak.
Thanks
Bill

I wanted to close out this thread and to thank the various people who offered suggestions and guidance on how to solve my post clutch R&R problems.

Dirtrider from the Sport Touring website said it was possible that the high idle problem I was having was due to cruise control cable being mis adjusted. He was correct. During the time I was was R&R the clutch, the cable splitter box was displaced out of the way. I did not know to inspect to see if the cruise control adjustment cable adjustment had been pulled apart inside its sheath. It was and was pulling on the throttle cables in the splitter box. Once the cruise control cable was properly reassembled, the high idle problem was resolved.

Thanks again everyone.
