This is my VW-powered rig. This is as it was when it was rescued from a barn in Oklahoma.

cdd, a buddy of mine had a BMW/VW rig with a Velorex tacked on to it back in the late 70's.
I got to drive it quite a bit. Different... . . it sure didn't know that chair was hanging off of the side of it, that is for sure! At the time I was a designer for the Vetter Corporation and we were just starting the development of the Terraplane II side car and were using an Yamaha XS100. It couldn't keep up with that, but it was no slouch either. Fun rig!
I guess more than one company offered adapter kits, but I can't find any now.

..and I have a sidecar on my other /2. Maybe some day I'll mate the two. Also, maybe these are "vintage" and not "airhead" customs, but oh well!

was in the process of Cafe-ing the bike at this time. It ended up with a cool all metal bitchin little 1/4 fairing when done. right now tho its going back to like the first pic. Here it was in the back of my CC while in the middle of the switch.
