Possible Recall for BMW Motorcycles Re: Paralever Issues

BMW (not NHTSA) is recalling 440 motorcycles which were possibly produced with a component of the paralever system which may fail, and put the paralever in contact with the rear wheel. Models affected are RnineT, R1250 GS, RT, R, & RS Models produced from 10/31/2019 to 1/30/2020. There's a little article on the issue here: https://www.visordown.com/news/industry/bmw-recall-r-nine-t-1250-gs-rt-r-rs-models

From the article, it looks like the problem is regarding bikes in the overseas i.e. Europe markets. The NHTSA website does not seem to have any mention of US models.

In the U.S. this recall seems to be only for the RT and GS according to the NHTSA site:https://www.nhtsa.gov/vehicle/2020/BMW/R%2525201250%252520RT#recalls. The K bikes, GSA, R, RS, and R9T do not show pivot pin recalls.

I may be reading the recall reports incorrectly, but it seems to involve the pivot pin from a supplier who did not make the part to specifications. A few bikes (maybe 4 ) that had been sent to a re-work station had the pin fail when it was torqued a second time (re-used after removal, I think).

At least one document indicates that the affected bikes have not been sold and are still at the dealers.

Thanks lkraus - I missed the NHTSA recall. Looks like all the RnineT bikes affected, as well as the other 436 are all out side the US.
