Saw this on Facebook.
Let me be the first to say. Wow, that’s ugly.

“BMW R 1300 RT not far away!

The RT has long been the luxury touring model for BMW and also the choice of many international authority organisations for police work. For 2025, the RT will gain the 1300 boxer engine ( 1300cc, 145HP @ 7,750 rpm and 149 NM @ 6,500 rpm.

BMW has had a patent lodged for some time regarding electrically adjustable fairing elements. We can see in the images a mechanism above each of the side fairing parts. We assume to control more or less air flow for wind protection. Maybe even adjusted to riding speed.

There is front radar for adaptive cruise control and front collision warning. The headlight is completely new. There is a small central LED for low and high beam. There are also additonal lights for cornering and DRL. The front turn signals are intergrated into the mirror housings.

We also see the lack of a clutch lever signalling it will also be available in the ASA automatic shift assistant variation like the recently launched R 1300 GS Adventure. A shift lever is of course present for manual shifting still.

It is likely the R 1300 RT will have a steel main frame and aluminium sub frame to cope with the high luggage loads. The K1600 and R1300 GS Adventure have this for similar reasons.

The R 1300 RT now also gets the same flex element system for the mounting of the handlebar and top triple clamp. Better precision steering and feedback.

Radar sensors at the front and rear, heated grips, heated seats and electronically adjustable windscreen. Intergrated navigation in the TFT display which is possibly even larger than the 1250 RT.”

Looks like they still have that  slapped-on tablet for the dash display. They  redesigned the RT but could not address that out-of-place tablet. Sup wit dat?

Because for cost reasons, it may actually be a re-purposed tablet display, which can retail for less than $30 these days. A custom shaped glass would cost much more.

Maybe I'm just built like "the typical German" (although that's not in my blood) - but I like my 1150RT's mirrors just fine.
And from that Motorrad shot, it looks like they STILL don't offer a front fender that will keep (stuff) off the engine & exhaust, and protect the rear tire from flung debris.

I don't like that one either but it does look like a total test machine.
I'm guessing it's GSA bodywork with added aero bits for testing, and the revised geometry/frame/suspension bits for the RT, but not really a "near production" mule. Basically, replace the frame and suspension bits that you must for the RT ride and seating position, leave the tank alone, add a roughed out fairing for wind control and positioning of controls. Paint it matt black and see how it rides. Adjust hard-to-get-right elements, and do it again. Then finalize the plastics once everything important is in the right place.
