Our 2025 Rally : The What, Where & Why... Lebanon Tennessee : June 19-21 2025

I am new to using a GPS(Garmin 396) and cannot figure out how to import routes to my GPS. I go into ride with gps(bicycling route app) and choose the route, I choose send to device. Garmin then it sends to garmin connect, which is a watch app. I do not want to do that.
What the heck am I doing wrong. I have a garmin connect account and can find the route in app but still can't send to gps. I do not want to use my phone as GPS.

I was going to say, “Good freaking luck.” My Navigator VI is supposed to let you import and export routes, but it largely seems to only work with other Navigator VIs (even if you have the Garmin smartphone app). There was also a feature to share your location with someone so they could track you for a time period you selected. That ended shortly after the unit was released. Garmin has really dropped the ball in the QA department.

Are you looking for a room for the 2025 Rally. We have space for one more rider at the BMW MOA rally in Lebanon TN to share to cost of the hotel. So if you do not have a reservation, I can help.

Which hotel? I’m at the Days Inn on South Cumberland Street. I also have a spare bed.

Very accurate description of
Rally Volunteering… Thanks Greg!

I'll add a plug for the virtues of volunteering at the rally. Many people think that volunteering will take time away from their enjoyment of the event when in fact it actually adds to it. You get to meet new people and enjoy a sense of participation and ownership that you can't get any other way. The proof of this in my experience is that virtually everyone I've ever known who volunteers for the first time comes back and does it again, and again. Make the move from "customer" to "member" by joining your fellow members to make the largest volunteer-powered motorcycle rally in the world the best ever!

At every MOA National Rally that I have attended, I have seen GPSs, keys in ignitions and other items left on bikes. The MOA Rally members seem to be a very trusting and secure group. There might be a concern if Day Passes allow the local population in but even then I very much doubt that your trailer would vanish.

In my almost eighty years, I had a tendency to often over think and worry about issues, but as I’ve told my daughter (who also possesses this (my) personality/defect, in my life, I have wasted too much anxiety over things which have never come to pass.

Enjoy the Rally.
I agree! I have attended about a dozen MOA Nationals along with 25+ years at Americade and a bunch of Honda Hoots and never had an issue with security or theft. I am sure there are instances but I always feel pretty safe and secure. I should note I never park in a big city or sketchy area and if I do then I try and secure as best I can. But 95% of the time my jacket and helmet are on my bike and cases unlocked. Heck on my 2016 RT which has a REAL key I usually forget to take the key out. And at the Rally I would not work a bit. But hey that's just me and YMMV. I do have riding buddies that spend 5-10 minutes securing everything they own before going into a cafe.

In my experience the biggest danger when leaving a key in your bike at a national rally is your goofiest clown friend removing the key to mess with you to create panic and consternation. Also, in my experience this stunt seldom works if you have a handy spare key.

Hey that's what "friends" are for :dance

I exported it to the garmin smart link app(which is no longer supported) and transferred from the app to gps. It seriously does suck that they seem to half ass things now.

As we get closer to the Rally kickoff, it’s great to see that almost 500 members have been watching and participating in this Rally thread! :thumb
The Rally team.

As much as I'd like to attend, I had surgery near the end of May and the surgeon has told me to lift no more than 25 pounds (and no golf) until July!

It is nice to see that most of our Canadian brothers who are not attending are doing so because of other reasons and most are not related to the current US/Canada situation. I truly enjoy all of my Canadian riding buddies!!
