Have a 2014 GS, that is my new favorite bike. The FJR, and Road King just aren't getting the love anymore. Enjoy the day rides around Georgia, TN, and NC. Also enjoying the forest roads in N. Georgia. Looking forward to meeting some fellow riders in the area as I am retired and enjoy getting out.

Yoh, Totes! Welcome to the forum and the Motorrad community.

Be sure to connect with your local chartered club at some point this winter!

You’re lucky to be near so many great roads to enjoy on any sort of M/C!

Hope you’ve ridden Wolf Pen Gap Road north from TWoS. We do so from time to time being nearby ALaBeemers.

I’m very glad to hear that you’ve encountered a new/used GS, AND you’re learning to ride off-road which a terrific eXperience! That’s just so much fun (because most of our planet is not paved as you might have learned)... :doh

If needbe, there are many opportunities for off-road coaching - to include BMW in SC! We got some instruction there...

Happy Trails whenever U can - Ciao!

Welcome toter! I am envious of the roads that are readily available to you. Hope you will post a pic or two of the GS.

Welcome from WNC. Here are a few good adventure roads for your GS up in the "NawJaw" mountains.

The first two rides start from Hiawassee, home of the Georgia Mountain Rally (first week in May). The second map goes up into NC and features some excellent Forest Service roads. These two rides were part of the GS Giants Georgia Mountain Ramble, an event at the BMWMCOGA rally.

The third ride starts from Two Wheels of Suches... and has a bit of a challenging section.

And if you would like to meet a lot of fellow BMW riders, the BMW MC Club of Georgia's Annual Toy Run is on December 10th.
