New 49 L top case, how to remove lock Cylinder ?

Hello All,

I am a proud owner of a 2019 r1250rt at time of purchase I didn’t want to pay the exorbitant price for the fancy top case.

I Have been looking online for a used one for sale and found one in fantastic condition from a 2018 1200rt with just about the same color. Here’s my question how can I remove the lock Cylinder ? I have watched many YouTube videos but they all refer to the older style. Mine has the knob inside and wired connection for central lock etc. I do have the key for the case but need to return it to the guy that sold it to me. I just want to make the lock work with my bike key. If it cant be done it’s no big deal I can make good with the central lock system.

There has to be a way ... thank you for your input

Either use the tool you see on Youtube for the case, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dcDpSbW1sVUor , tear the case apart and take out the lower liner. There is a slot where you can push down on the last "tumbler" and pull out the lock where the lock fits, but pretty sure you need to pull the case a part to get to it.

I would use the tool. It is a pain to take a part the case!
