My new R1200RS

Does this picture of the Touratech bar to mount it on help? You can also mount the holder on a ram ball mount to the side on the handlebars. I actually have the oil cooled GS so I don't know the particulars on the LC model, but the high on the Touratech bar in the middle of the windshield looked similar and where it's easy to look at while still looking where you are going.
As I said, looking down at the front of the gas tank is just dumb if BMW wants you to survive to buy another BMW.

Yes I can see where it mounts. I will check that with my fairing.

I also seen this set-up which I really like. Just have to check out how similar the K1300R Handle bolt si to the R1200RS.

Decided on the Ram ball on handlebar mounting bolt. I will send photos after I get it installed.

LOVE my new R12RS. It is my favorite BMW that i have owned so far. Only one problem. GPS screen is mostly blocked when I use my tank bag.
There is room to bring it forward just not sure how to go about it.
If only the mounting screws were square instead of staggered, then you could flip the mount.

See pics, Ideas?

Ha! Until I saw your photo I never realised the GPS swung on its mounting - I've been fed up with he reflections on mine as it came lying flat/parallel to the bar mounting. Much better now and it's not blocked by my Bags Connection City bag (although it might be when I stuff it really full and put the map pocket on). Thanks!

Does the Bag Connection tank bag work well on the RS?
Can you see the GPS over the bag?
Do any of the switches hit the bag at full lock?

Were you able to look at a BMW bag? I see the BMW bag is only 5 liters unexpanded, which is pretty small. 5 liters is the same size as my wife's DayPack2.
So far I have not been able to see any of the R or RS accessories in person.

No problems with the bag - full view, no switch interference (it did interfere on my old RT).

The BMW bag is too small. I think my fix with the Ram ball on the handle bar mount will do the trick. I only need about 3" forward to clear the bag.

After riding the bike for a week I have gotten used to the GPS screen. I can navigate using the directions on the top of the map that shows next turn info. Road bike in Chicago area this week and that worked .
