I’m now accepting RSVPs for May 10th’s, 2nd Saturday R2E to Cooter Brown’s Rib Shack, 8464 AL Hwy 204, in Jacksonville, AL. Hope my HSV gaggle will arrive there just after 1100. If you appreciate good BBQ ribs, you don’t want to miss this chance for exceptional chow (big & beefy I’d say)! Address any Q’s to: president@bmwmoal.org

We had six BMW riders meet-up this morning for my planned ride to Jacksonville, AL [knowing we would encounter rain the further south we rode]. Indeed the sprinkles turned into steady rain the closer we got to my planned pit-stop in Rainbow City. We all enjoyed a brief rest stop and put on extra layers for the next 40 min/30 mi leg to Cooter Browns Ribs. We were only about 15 minutes late because I/we were taking it easy in traffic and on some ‘crummy’ sections of county roads. We found ten comfortably warm drivers/passengers awaiting our arrival as we took off layers of wet gear. The group seemed pleased with their individual lunches, and some of us even ordered extra ribs to take home! The ride north was even wetter as the storm circulated north all afternoon. I guess you could say I’m either dedicated or insane because this is the third straight weekend me & Karen have gotten soaked [Fontana MOA Getaway, GA Mtn BMW Rally, and MOAL R2E]. We’re all home safely, and we’ll be ready for future rides to come. See all y’all in Lebanon next month!

Ciao, HSV-Phil & HSV-Karen :eat :yum
