2nd Saturday MOAL Ride-2-Eat, 8Mar25

Weather’s starting to trend upward here in Sweet Home Alabama!

There will be a change of plans for March’s 2nd Saturday Ride-2-Eat [the 8th @ 1115] {compared to our previous R2E on the MOAL public events calendar}. P&K drove my planned route to the Stash House on the 22nd and we encountered the owner in the building as we were investigating for signs of closure. It was recently sold and thus unavailable for our R2E. He suggested that we visit “their other” BBQ establishment if we’re looking for some good Q and a biker-friendly restaurant. Turns out that it will serve us very nicely on 8Mar25! Since it’s a little further south for the HSV riders, and there’s an abundance of tables [unlike Bama Buck’s in Feb], let’s agree to rendezvous @ 11:15 at Kat Daddy’s BBQ & Grille in Bremen, AL {SW of Cullman - see atch’d pdf overview AND you’ll have to download the 2nd pdf and rename it as a Garmin GPX file!}.

Hope some wandering GA & TN BMW bikers can stop by!
Ciao, HSV-Phil & HSV-Karen

We had six BMWs ride south from Huntsville to Kat Daddy’s BBQ in Bremen this morning. We rode 76 miles in two hours along many county backroads, including climbing the tight switchbacks on Six Mile Creek Rd {below AL-36 & AL-67}. We were greeted by seven early birds on the front porch awaiting our arrival on a pleasant 60F Saturday morning as more flowers and trees are showing their colors! Then more folks arrived from other statewide locations bringing the total to 30 (nearly as many as February’s R2E)! The staff was a little overwhelmed since I told them yesterday to expect ten, but the B-B-Q was worth waiting for and P&K ordered extra ribs to-go for weekend meals. We had time to share stories of future travels and Vance Harrelson presented folks with new Rhythm & Ride Rally stickers for saddlebags. We had at least eight lady members accompanying their male partners, but not everyone was required to be on 2-wheels.

I plan to relocate April’s R2E because I was told that The Bright Star Restaurant in Bessemer is Very Popular on Saturdays these days; stay tuned for future announcements.
