The AlaBeemers are meeting for their annual Holiday party near Double Springs, AL [ N34° 08.435' W87° 18.791’ ]. Phil & Karen will lead a ride from the Lakeshore Inn on the 2nd Saturday, starting at ~10:30 over to Winfield, AL for some tasty BBQ. First though, we’ll depart the Blue Plate Cafe on Governors Drive in Huntsville @0830 after the weekly Vintage M/C breakfast. It’s about 100 miles from HSV, and then another hour from the Inn to lunch. If anyone wants to ride/drive themselves straight to the restaurant, I expect that we’ll arrive ~11:30. We’ll give Mookie’s Smokehouse some BMW biker love, and then Phil will wander back to the hotel along the outskirts of the Bankhead Forest. Waypoints and various planned routes are in the attached gpx file below. Happy Trails y’all! :thumb

Braaaah.

Just picked up a '22 GSA in CA this month, and it's being held hostage at Big #1 in Birmingham for software update and drive shaft test / replacement bulletins.

They "committed" to releasing it NLT December 15. If it's available, I'll see you there.

Otherwise -- I could be on a Honda.

Greetings Señor Sadlsor!
It'll be chilly next week, but nothing we've not seen before. Stop by at one location or another. It'll be nice to introduce U to a few fellow AlaBeemers. Our next 2nd Sat R2E will be to Beans and Greens in Ballplay, AL in 2024... :nod

Thanks Phil, I'll catch up with you one of these days.
Meanwhile, as I'm such a "avoid-the-cold" wimp, Warm 'n Safe makes most rides tolerable.
(Turn it UP!) :)

We, Phil & Karen, had a respectable R-2-E on Saturday morning. It did rain overnight on Friday, quite heavily, so that caused our regulars to be otherwise "hesitant" shall I say. We rode to breakfast at the Blue Plate Cafe, as is the norm. Even there, the parking lot was full of cars, with about 17 "bikers" at breakfast. Thankfully the sun was breaking through and the roads were drying when we rode south to Double Springs and the meeting point for the ride to lunch. No one showed up there either, so we went on my planned route to Mookie's Smokehouse (as discovered in Garmin Basecamp). https://www.mookiessmokehouse.com - Having never been there before, I was surprised to learn it was a small mom & pop walk-up operation at an enclosed kitchen & separate smokehouse. We were met there by three MOAL couples in their sedans, though, and the weather was now in the low 70's as we sat outside and ate our selections at a picnic table - on December 9th - in Winfield, AL!

P&K meandered back to the Lakeshore Inn where we met with 16 other members & wives for afternoon libations and the Army-Navy game. We later moved to a distant corner of the Goldiggers Lounge for a respectable dinner. Service might've been a bit slow, but that's Lake Life. Afterwards, we played the bring a wrapped present and steal your best choice, Dirty Santa gift swap. It's always good for some laughter. Hope your Holiday celebrations are also fun & memorable.
