"Miles to zero" screwed up - 09GS

Stuck on zero... With the pain in the arse yellow light and flashing FUEL warning. I tried unhooking the battery, but only for about a minute. Bike took a good jolt from a ditch. All other electronics seem to be fine.
Ideas?

wag- a connection, maybe at strip inside tank? What does your fuel gage show- is it working or dead?

Should be a simple fix no matter what it is. Just use your odometer in the meantime so you don't join the multitudes who've accidentally run dry.

Apparently this is a known problem with the 09's. Hubby's GSA is going in for service. He was told that they will "repair" but they have not found a fix for it yet.

All shows zero. I'm beginning to think it's something in the tank also. How do I find this connection? I did some feeling around with connections to the odo, but no help.
