Lowering the Pegs R1250GSA

Hi,

I have a R1250GSA and with 6'7" it is a bit of a challenge to get the perfect knee angle. I already have 20k miles on it with the Touratech Rally Tall Seat and Touratech lowered pegs.
However, I do not like the TT pegs. They are too small, and look not well made.
I purchased the Altrider Pegs put them in the low position but they are not lower than the stock rally pegs, (means worse than the TT). Wunderlich is offering a kit that would perfectly
fit my needs, but the peg is just as small as the TT one and doesn't look it will give grip off road.
BDCW say there peg is only "ever so slightly" lower than the Stock Rally Pegs, which means likely same as the Alt-Rider ones.

I found suburban machinery, but the pictures are not clear as what I am gonna get.
Are there any good pictures of this kit? Does any one have a better solution?

(I do have the wunderlich shift lever, which is a bit of a scam, as it doesn't work in the tallest position, and I changed boots from AS Tech7 to Grearne S22)

I have the Suburban Machine lowered pegs on my 2018 R1200GS and would happily take pics for you, but it wouldn’t help you much as Suburban has discontinued production of the DRF8 series pegs that fit the GSLC models. Sorry.

Best,
DeVern

As I read that page, that kit is designed to fit only the R1200R and RS. Whether it would fit a GSA remains a question probably best answered by contacting Suburban. What you get is a replacement pivot block for the LH side, which relocates only the OEM footpeg, and for the RH side a plate that bolts between the footpeg/brake pedal bracket and the frame, thus lowering the peg and pedal by 1.25”.
Good luck in your search,

Best,
DeVern

The pin and all is the same, but at a 2nd thought, that won’t do any good. I believe there will be an issue with the side stand and it says it goes .4” forward and that’s too bad for me.

Should have read the details first…

Maybe the 1300 lowering pegs work. Or the 900 off road pegs.

The right side of the Suburban Machinery set is a block that drops the entire footpeg and brake lever assembly. It will not fit on a GS.

Be careful with peg lowering. I put peg lowering brackets on my 2015 FJR 1300. They felt really nice. But at a moderate pace on the Cherohala Skyway, I kept getting peg scrapes, which was quite disconcerting. I don't ride that aggressively, but, they surely were not the answer. I would look at highway pegs.

Or - I would look at raising the seat height. For me, highway pegs totally alter my body position, putting strain on my lower back. I can use them for a few minutes and after that the back strain is too much.

Me too! I will never give them up either. 3 Setting adjustable height and well made.
