Is me or the bike- '24 GSA 1250 service issue

I have felt tires that were rough on a ride but never “heard” tires. However I do wear earplugs with every ride.

My question to everyone who at one time or another heard their tires, are you or not wearing earplugs? 🤷‍♂️
Yes, always with earplugs and yes, the song is audible. I found the Dunlop Trailmax Mission to be less noisy than the Anakees, and both less noisy than the Mitas and Heidenau tires. Most any dirt-suitable tire will sing on pavement after a few thousand miles, but I’ve not found any of them objectionable enough to spoil the ride.

Best,
DeVern

Yes, I wear earplugs and have heard tires when they were the noisy type.

If the tires are Anakee Adventures, I would look to them as the problem. I bought a 21 GS with about 5,000 miles on it. The original owner had Anakee Adventures installed about 500 mi. prior to my purchasing the bike. Going straight they were silent. With just the slightest bit of lean angles, they howled excessively. I kept them on for 1,000 more miles. I then then took them off and threw them away, which was a great decision. Most aggravating tires I have ever had on a motorcycle. YMMV
Same experience with the Anakee tires for me as well. Couldn’t wait to take them off either and have been on Dunlop TMM’s ever since.
This was 60K+ miles ago… Now on my 4th set as each lasts about 20K miles ..

Well after several replies regarding riders being able to hear noisy tires while wearing earplugs, maybe my wife is right about my hearing is not what it used to be. 😁

I wear custom molded air plugs and heard it on the Anakees that came OEM on my GS. It is not only sound but it sets up vibration, so it is felt as well as heard. At least in my case. Some tires are silent as new but become loud as they wear. I think it is to do with the dual compound used in some brands.

As I said once it is clear it it is tire noise, it is fine to live with. But the first time you experience it it leaves you scratching your head.

Thanks for all of the input.
Yes, Anakee Adventure shoes on this GSA. My main concern, other than it being it being annoying, was not to continue riding with a problem mechanical situation- which it doesn't seem to be. Would have been nice for the service guys to at least acknowledge a tire noise.... I also agree w/ wbrownell9: it's not a flex or torsional issue acting on the tires.
I do believe it is definitely a tire noise and I will ride on until it worsens or I just change 'em out for new shoes when it aggravates me enough.

Yeah.... my tires got loud when I lean over. I think they were Anakee Adventure.... kinda' quiet when going straight. Replaced them with Road 6's and it's dead quiet.
My Road 6s make noise when leaned over, but are otherwise quiet. As they wear, they’ll get noisier.

I think OP is hearing dual sport tire noise.

First GS or dual sport, OP?

Yes,-first dual sport (GSA) in many years. Been on a variety, but road/ cruisers mostly in the past.
Actually eyeing a 1250 RT presently. This GSA I've got needs a 34"+ inseam to flat-foot at a stoplight!

I had Road 6’s on my 04RT & the front always scalloped after a few thousand miles & I could hear them cornering using earbuds with music. I ran the front at 38psi, was going to go to 40 on the next set but the bike was totaled when a deer decided to take me out in October.

Hope ya came out of that OK. But, you know how it is. Fair is fair. We have deer hunting season. The deer have motorcyclist hunting season. (Except their season lasts about 12 months a year.) 🤣
