Help with finger guard system for the windshield on 2016 R1200rt

Hi, Does anyone know how to reset the pressure sensitive finger guard system for the windshield on 2016 R1200rt ?
 
Finger guard??? I have a 2016 RT and didn't have any idea what you were talking about, until I looked in the Owner Manual.

I would guess manually set it all the way up, and then all the way down and see if that doesn't reset it. And,... keep your fingers out of it's path.
If it is still feeling resistance, I would clean and lube the pivot points of the windscreen hardware.

Having just looked at the manual, it seems that the finger-guard system is a non-adjustable automatic system designed to help a rider keep his or her fingers from harm. Here's the manual pages which discuss that:
