Hello from Newcastle upon Tyne in the UK

Hi everyone, I hope you're all well. I'm based in the UK and a bit of a car person really (porsche being my slight guilty pleasure!) But I've always loved my bikes, paticularly BMW with a little bit of customisation :). I've been looking through the forum a little bit and although a lot of the benefits of the club don't really apply to me in the UK, the knowledge and information I learn from the group is invaluable. I'm no mechanic and there seems to be less and less proper mechanics willing to look at airheads up here in the north so I try to muddle my way through when I can.

I currently own a custom BMW R80 from 77 which has been sliced up a little (hopefully this is acceptable!). It's a great bike (probably my favourite of all time) when it runs :)

It's currently having a few ignition issues so you may see popping up on the forums if that's ok to aska. couple of questions here and there.

I also have a 61 Vespa, but I'm not sure that's favoured around these parts ;)

Nice to meet you all
David

Hello David up in the north of England - from the north of Alabama!
Thanks for connecting online; we’ve got a rack to spare should U find yourself passing thru Rocket City USA in the future. My Mum was a fire fighter in Liverpool; then she became a WWII capture by my GI dad in the ‘50s... We too have Airheads, and Karen’s is gonna get an overhaul pretty soon {apparently due to low compression on the starboard side}. We’ve toured southern England and visited my cousins in Birmingham & Kent. Hoping your summer riding will be enjoyable [solstice in 9 days]!

Ciao from the scenic Tennessee River Valley!

Hello from the capital district of New York State in the USA. Imaginative air head! I like it. BTW, some of the most fun I've had on 2 wheels was with a Vespa (and a certain young lady 🥰) so yes, Vespas are appreciated 'round these parts, at least by some.....

That's great, you may appreciate this one then :)

They're great fun. Just don't get caught in a pot hole! There's plenty of them over here! Enjoy the parade

Welcome David! Very cool. Which of Dr. Porsche's creations are you guilty? Thanks for the pic. Feel free to share pics of the entire stable.

Hi Ian, I've a few cars but not a lot of photos. I'm usually too busy trying to keep them on the road!

Nice selection of Vintage German machines! You’d fit in nicely with our cohorts over here, Dave! Besides our newer BMWs and the Airheads club, we’re involved with the North Alabama Vintage M/C Club [FB: NAVMC]. We attended a nice British & European car event nearby a couple of Saturdays ago [we rode the Vespas that day]. A couple of the NAVMC chaps had their vehicles on display in Dublin Park in Madison. :thumb :thumb

I do like good mini. I used to have one years ago, but it was always a struggle getting in and out of it.
