Feature Creep

So, I'm now the proud owner of a 2024 GSA and have sold my 2017 GSA to a good friend - which is a bonus as I now have one more friend to ride with.

What I am curious about though, is what features/improvements have been made to the GSA between my old 2017 and the new 2024. Some things are obvious (the shift cam engine, the TFT display), but other things seem to be more subtle like the automatic ride height and the "new" ride modes (Dynamic Pro). Also, from what I can figure out, some of these features were introduced with new model years, but some were introduced within production of a year (e.g. - seems the TFT was introduced mid or late in the 2017 model year)?

Is there some document some place which outlines what features were introduced and when? For example, when was cornering ABS introduced? It would be a nice resource for anyone looking to buy a used bike to know what features were and weren't available and when...

Sometime between those years the turn signal will turn off after making a turn and the bike is upright again.
On my 2016 the bike just used time and distance. The 1250 also uses lean angle.

Lee, Your K75S back in the 80s would self cancel the turn signals. Is this system 35 years later really better?

Yes, they turn off right after you make the turn.
On our bikes before the 1250 I would manually cancel to make sure the signal did not stay on too long.

And, my ‘76 Yamaha RD400 had self-canceling turn signals along with disc brakes at front and rear. Both worked well, and I don’t find the self-canceling signals on my newer bikes to have been markedly better. ABS n the newer bikes was a game changer, tho.

Best,

"Back in the day" a friend had a Kawasaki Z1-R that had self canceling turn signals (1978?). There was a solenoid that physically returned the turn signal switch to neutral. Don't remember how it was triggered. My '85 K100RS came with self cancellers from the factory. I don't see why any bike with an electric driven speedometer can't have self cancellers.

Did not know my '23 R1250RS could have the lean angle sensor tied in with the turn signals.
