Yesterday I replaced both front & rear brake pads on my 2003 F650GS @ 16,000 miles.
The rear pads where shot - fronts were still okay but I replaced them for good measure. Brake pads are relatively cheap, like buying a new pair of sneakers.
Purchased Carbone Lorraine pads from Spiegler and as always, they do such a nice job with fast shipping and beautiful packaging - good prices too.
Did a google search on "How to Change Brake Pads on BMW F650GS" and found two beautiful videos on You Tube.
The job from start to finish for both front & rear was under an hour.
