Buying New R1200R

I currently have a 2002 R1150R that the splines striped out recently (in the shop having trans rebuilt) but thinking I would like to get something newer & save the other one for back up. What I am wondering is when a dealer is selling a basically new bike (hardly no miles never sold) but is a year or two old should I expect to pay the new price? Or should I expect a discounted used price since the bike is 1-2 years old? Never negotiated buying a bike before from dealer. Would appreciate any input I can get. Thanks

I can't say whether or not the dealer would discount, but if the bike is more than 1 model year old, it will be valued according to it's age, and even if it has never been titled, once purchased will be valued the same as used. You should try to negotiate the price down to help offset the depreciation.

Definitely would expect a significant discount, especially since they will be trying to move the new 1200r. I would expect those new bikes sitting in the showroom to give you some bargaining power.
