auxiliary fuse boxes

I recently went back to an F650GS after trying an R1200GS. I saved my centech fuse box with relay that I used on both my 1st F650 and the R12GS, planning to use it on my new F650. Ran into a problem because the new bike has the tire pressure monitor module in the only place I can see to mount the centech (under the rear seat panel). I can't find another place to mount the fuse box (It's too tall because of the mounting posts to fit in the cavity behind the battery), so I'm wondering if anyone had either found an alternative mounting location, or found another aux. fuse box (e.g., TSP-15 or blue fuse) that might fit in the cavity behind the battery.

You don't say how much extra space you need but all the fuse panels I know are about the same height 1 1/4" plus or minus a little.

The Centech has an exposed board underneath and some others do both. It also needs an external relay if you want switched power which adds to the wiring work.

A more compact install is possible with a Fuzeblock that has an onboad relay but it is still aout the same height.

I use an Eastern Beaver but its pretty close in size to the Centech and also needs an external relay for switched power but does not have an exposed board underneath.

Do you really need a panel or can you get by with one of the smaller alternates? Take a look at the various offering from Eastern Beaver and you may find something else that will work for you.

Can't help you with location- not familiar enough with the model.
 
Eastern Beaver makes a 3-line fuse block - 2 switched, 1 always-on - which meets my modest needs. They can provide a relay and diode (protects the bike's electronics) wired into the harness to simplify things. The fuse block is much smaller than its larger cousings and mounts easily.

I'm in the process of installing it right now and am looking for the best place to tap into a switched-power lead for the relay. I could run the lead back to a tail light but that seems longer than necessary. Or there is the rear power outlet plug but that stays on for a minute or so after the ignition is switched off (why???) There are a couple of other plugs under the seat but I can't identify what they are for.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
