Is it possible to just pull the drive shaft out and install a new rubber drive shaft boot without taking the swing arm off?

Drive Shaft boot
You can not pull the drive shaft out with the swingarm in and the engine still in place. You can disconnect the driveshaft from the trans, block up under the engine, pull the engine mount bolts, slide the engine/trans forward an inch or so , install the boot then put it all back.
OR, you can unbolt the rear fender, disconnect the driveshaft from the trans, screw the swingarn pins out, pull the swinarm /rear wheel back an inch or so , install the boot then put it all back.
You might be able to disconnect the shaft from the trans, push the shaft as far rearward as it will go and carefully stretch, squeeze, pull and push the boot through the gap and put it back together. You can get a little more gap by removing the final drive and pushing the drive shaft more to the rear.
