2012 1200RT "bottom stopper" fell out during valve clearance check

Okay, I hope this is a dumb question.

Last night I performed my first valve clearance check. When I took the valve cover off of the left cylinder, a piece that BMW calls the "bottom stopper" fell out. It is basically just a black angular plastic block located at the very bottom below the cams and everything. I have no idea what it actually does. It seemed like there was only one way to put the thing back in, so I did. However it seems to just kind of rest/float in place. By contrast the bottom stopper on the right hand cylinder seems to be firmly attached.

Does this situation seem okay? Do I need to worry about the looser one getting chewed up or anything? As info: the Install bottom stopper instructions just say "Install stopper". So not much help.

Thank you.

It fits sort of like the other... it's molded so that it nests into place. Just wiggle it around until it seems more or less at home. If the cover still fits, then the stopper is probably in the right place.

Thank you Anton. I'm going to guess that it is probably okay then.
Cool tech article website as well, by the way.
