2009 GS 1200 Seat Dilemma

I'm new to MOA and the BMW GS family and this is my first time posting. I just acquired a 2009 R GS 1200 from a woman that had the seat (and I assume suspension) set low for her height. I'm 6'1" and would like to raise the seat a bit, but the seat doesn't appear to be adjustable, as described in the manual. My guess is that I may need to change out the seat brackets on the bike. I've attached a few photos of my seat and the current front and rear brackets. Can anyone confirm for me what I need to do to get the height I want on my GS that seems to be locked into shorter-person mode?

Welcome to the forum! One of the moderators will move your post to the Hexhead/Camhead portion of the forum, since that is the general name of the 2009 R1200GS model. That way you'll get a better range of owners to look at your issue and offer some ideas. Hang on for a transfer a bit later on...

Pretty much all of the Hexhead & Camhead seats are interchangeable and can be readily found for sale. The low seat only has 1 non adjustable setting. The 'regular' seat is taller and has 2 height settings. There is even some 'tall' seats available too (GSA?) if I remember correctly. If that still doesn't do it and you do indeed have the low suspension then you will need to consider replacing the front and rear shocks and both kickstands. Low suspension & tall seat is better than tall suspension and low seat if you have long legs. Your knees will be happier.
