1998 1100R left side case modification

Greetings,
I just updated my 98 R1100R with a lighter exhaust. It also sits much lower then the stock exhaust. I’m wondering if I can take a left side case from and RS (larger capacity) and adapt it to the R model. Any suggestions or has someone actually accomplished this.

It's been done. There is a thread on the UK GS'ers with some pictures.
Inner left case needs a couple of guides made up and bolted on if you using the stock passenger footpeg assembly.
