1995 BMW R100GS or R100GS PD?

I am looking at a 1995 R100GS PD. From a collectible, resale, desirablity standpoint, is the R100GS or R100GS PD more desirable? I am just curious in the opinions of the collective.

Another question: If both bikes were availalbe in the same color, same mileage, same condition, same price, etc., which one would you choose, the regular GS or the GS PD, and why?

Thanks,

Chris

I think that the PD would be worth more

and i loved mine. However, knowing what i know now, i might decide to go for the regular GS over the PD. The extra fuel capacity and various doo dad's are nice, but necessary. But the extra weight is not!!

I have a PD and i absolutely love it!, it handles like a beast, looks great and i never i have to fill up with gas cause it has a big a** tank! :dance

I would go for the PD.
Just from observation they seem to fetch a premium over a regular GS.

I am going through a similar decision right now, but the PD is more expensive than the GS I am looking at.

To give an example; last week on Ebay a 1994 R100GSPD with 3k miles sold for $12000.00. The sale price to me was kind of a shocker, I had bid $6k and thought I was being down right generous! :)
Not sure that a regular GS with the same mileage would fetch that high of a price.

Both however are real classics, they do seem to slowly appreciate in value if you keep them in good shape.

The PD's to me also look neater IMHO.
My favourite is the years where the tank decal actually says Paris Dakar as opposed to GSPD.
For the GS my fav is the Bumblebee.

From your signature it looks like you have a pretty good collection of your own.
