1150 vs 1200 Rt Tires

Howdy, I am planning on getting an RT. Either a 04 or 05 if I can get a really good deal on the 05. From what I hear the 05's eat tires like crazy and the 04 get really good mileage from a set. Im coming off an Electra Glide in which tires last a good long time too. Anyone know why the 05's are so hard on tires?
