Radio 2002 R1150RT

Remember...that was 2002. Don't think we had much wireless anything back then.

Wow...such an old post. I had to go back and reread it and check who the OP was; it’s been so long I forgot all about it. Ha ha.

Well, you make a good point, but I think the point I was trying to make, was that the RT came equipped with such a basic audio system and had no capability to communicate with the passenger or other riders via a wired headset. Other touring bikes like the Honda Goldwing and Harley Ultra Classic to name a couple have had that sort of capability since the 80’s that I can recall. I owned a Harley Ultra Classic of the same era and the audio system the bike came with included wired headsets so that the rider and passenger could communicate via intercom. It also had a 40 channel CB radio to communicate with other riders, or simply enjoy listening to music. Oddly enough...the stereo also had a weather band and CD player, besides the AM/FM stereo. By comparison the BMW deck had a cassette deck with none of the other capabilities I mentioned.

Ultimately I ended up just taking the suggestion that many on this forum suggested. I bought a new Sena Bluetooth headset and called it a day. It works just fine.
