Importing R100R from the UK

Hello All
Just become a member and have a question, the likes of which have has probably been aired many time before. But here goes:
I have a 1991/92 R100R in the UK. I would like to import to Galveston County, Texas.
I have a logistic company identified and the cost is reasonable.
However I am getting conflicting advice:
Transport company says it needs to be over 25 yrs old, some have said more than 21.
Have been to the local BMW garage and they seemed to think that bringing it in and getting it on the would be straight forward.
So the question is how difficult is it and what would my next steps be?

Welcome to the forum!
I don't know Texas R&R's on that type of thing. If you hang on a bit I'll bet someone does.
Gary
