Hello,

I live in the central valley in California. Does anyone know where I can get a Dakar windshields to try on my bike before I purchase it? I already have two other windshields that do not seem to be working for me. It seems every where I go you have to purchase one before you can try it.

I have an '06 F650GS
Thanks.

That's pretty much the way it works - buy before you try. That's because they can crack when installing/using. Your best bet is to find some other riders with your bike plus a different screen and see if they'll let you try their bike out. Hang around BMW dealerships is a good way to meet other riders, finding a local riding club might work and the best way is to attend a rally. Lots of bikes at a rally, one of them is sure to have what you're looking for. Don't know if you've seen these, but here are two links to aftermarket windscreen evals from the chaingang FAQ's -read thru them.

Another tip - when posting windscreen queries - include your height and the brands of the ones that didn't work.

Hey Billy,
What other shields don't you like?

I've got a 05 that I thru a Dakar shield on. Its Ok on hot days but once the weather was 40F or below it was worthless, to me that is...

Thanks everyone for the advice. I ended up getting a Dakar windshield, and I really like it. Which is odd, because I hear most people do not. Anyways, Thanks.
