Post the oldest picture you have of yourself and a motorcycle:

Photo of me in 1974 standing beside my 68 R50/2 BMW

Taken on a ride following the Rio Grande North out of Albuquerque. I still have the bike...but neither of us look the same now.

Time to resurrect this thread.

Summer of 1977 near Olympia Wa. My dad rode up from the SF bay area to visit. I'm guessing that's his R90/6 with the Vetter fairing. I'm on an RD-400.

I think this is the oldest that I have. It's either May of 1972 or 1973 at a high school activity. I was riding my second motorcycle, a red Honda SL 350. I have no idea what that girl was spooning into my mouth, but it looks as though I enjoyed it.

Dammit Derek, you had to start this thread and make me tear up the house trying to find the damn disc, only to eventually find it right here in the clutter on my desk. :laugh

Anyway, the year is 2001. I was 33, and had just spent the last eight months doing a total refurb of a 1985 K100RT that had been sorely neglected and spent the eighteen months prior to delivery parked uncovered under a tree (see A K100 In Need Of Love, BMWON, April 2007 I think?).
When I was 13 I had been a passenger on a bike belonging to a friend of my mom's, and I had also ridden a friend's mini-trail and rented a moped at the beach...but none of those experiences were ever photographed. So in 2001 I had a bike of my own and digital photograhy had been invented.

I had gotten it back together (except the fairing, which I was still repairing) and running, and the next day I tested it in the parking lot of the apartment complex where I was living:

Here are some more, since my roommate was having fun with the camera:

Veg, ATGATT?

This picture was taken July 3, 1976. I had two bikes previous to this one, but alas never took a picture of the other two. This bike is a 1973 Honda CB-350.

Just posted this in photography section...

There was a call for non-digital photos, so I scanned this...
Early '80s...'72 commando 750...my forth bike. For some reason, I cannot find pix of the first three.

Me and Ernie. He went everywhere with me, and wouldn't let anyone get within 10' of "his" motorcycle.

1975, on my 4th bike, my first new one, a 1975 Honda 550-4
I was about 400 miles from home here, visiting relatives.

Same bike; another trip in 75'. Me packing it, getting ready to leave in the morning from a hotel on Hwy 49. The middle of the night prior, my old tent failed badly in the rain, and my wife and I bailed camp and headed to the motel.

This is me with my NSU Super Max taken when I was stationed in Germany in 1965-1967. I rode it all through Germany and France. I also had a sidecar with it but don't have photos of it. It was a great bike.
