'84 R100RT Leaking between cases..

I just couldn't wait!
So..
The stuff went on and in, to make it run.
Fuel lines got filled with fresh Gas. Hooked up da electric, IT's Alive.
Loud and flashy without its pipes, but it runs and idles, and no gush of oil so far. Maybe somethings went right.
The Tank job didn't . Thought it was secure, and draining. It fell off the stimp it was on. Traped by time, I thought Getting it painted when he could would pay off, Heavy Sigh, it didn't .
So..

It is up and running at least untill
I pulled the battery. Tested it over at the Ft. Failed. Looking for another, hopefully in town. It's got some water added and is back on charge
It ran around town fine, but it needs to have the idle speed bumped up a bit.
Hope it runs a little cooler W/O the air pulse system.
The Outpost is charging a battery, I'll go get it tomarrow.

Ran but would die when the throttle was choped
Sunday aftermoon, I got a case of the whys and pulled the carbs. and looked
them over and pulled them apart. The needles had some real hard crap on
them, so I figured the internals did too. Pulled them apart one at a time,
hit them with a couple of cans of carb cleaner, soaked the internals, rinsed
them in water and dried them off with compressed air. In the process I
managed to destroy a couple of rubber O rings. and discovered that the choke
gaskets were toast and the screws holding them on were loose.
0800 monday I was on VanHorn Rd scrounging parts. Rubber O rings from the
transmission shop, Gasket material from Bearing Eng., silicone from NAPA and
a couple of spare O rings. out of Pocket @ $6. for the silicone. Never
cut my own gaskets before, it was easy with a fine exato.
Put em back together with all new O rings, Gaskets and on the bike. Put a touch of loctite blue on the choke screws.
The warm up ride was a little wild, started to have a higher than I wanted idle
out the Hot Springs road 12 miles round trip. Fan and carb sticks were set
up before I left. Synced them up, got the idle down. Went for a ride, Good
so far. Filled it with Premimum.
Pulled the plugs today, tip tan, edges black and sooty. Went from a W6 to a
W7 Bosh. The book calls for 7's but I've been running 1 cooler for the past
20 years.
MSF course at the Ft. tomarrow if there is a no show.
Somebody remind me .. It is about the ride, right .. Not just turning wrenches..
