R1150 I-ABS unit: Looking for info.

Hi.
Im currently making myself a tool for filling the ABS unit on my bike when I bleed the brakes. I was wondering if Someone with a busted/ scrapped/ non-working ABS unit would be willing to sell me a vent hose cover (see pics). That way I could reverse-engineer it and make a 3D file if people want to 3D print one to make a filler tool. Alternatively, If someone knows the thread size and type, that could be enough for me. I attached a pic of what part Im talking about. Also, to answer some questions in advance:

1) I know Beemer boneyard sells one but with shipping to Canada its close to 100$ for a plastic funnel so I wont buy it.
2) Im planning on ripping the whole servo system off the bike someday, but ill wait for it to start causing me some problems before I do that. Its working fine right now.

As always, thanks a lot for the help

I doubt there’s any creativity or originality being used on the size and threading of that cap. I’d be tempted to just pop the tank, remove that cap, and head for the hardware store to buy a matching bolt that could be drilled to build a tool, or match it to an appropriate BMW drain or fill plug. A more difficult sourcing might be in finding a clear plastic funnel that will securely bond with epoxy. The cap can also be ordered separately from BMW per the part numbers shown in the PDF attached, which describes making the tool for a brick-K--but I believe the caps are the same.

Good luck on the project and please post the results!

Best,
DeVern

Yeah I could do that, but right now my bike is stored quite far away from me. One of the reasons I want to 3D print an adapter is because I the threads on the ABS unit are plastic, so a steel bolt could damage them. As for the funnel, there are some on McMaster-Carr but a friend of mine who works in a let will get me a glass one. Not sure if thats better or worse for epoxy but Its surprisingly my cheapest option. Its also from the number of times I see people doing the Cervo delete, maybe someone would have an old unit lying around

How about contacting Module Masters- https://modulemaster.com/
I would guess from the great reviews here on the forum, this would be the first place to look for a “spare” cap.

The thread is the same size as some older battery caps. An early funnel I made used a drilled-out flush cap from a Y60 that was commonly used to replace the large BMW battery.
