I've found several for older models which shows a 'cover' to remove. The 2016 does not have this 'cover'??Yes. You should be able to Google it. I’ve seen it before
After we've answered this question, I'm looking for replacement rad hoses for my Volkswagen Beetle.Has anyone found or posted a video on how to replace alternator belt on a 2016 R1200RT??
Thanks!None of the waterboxers have an alternator belt. The alternator is internal to the engine and direct drive.
Thanks! The LC 1200 does not appear to have an alternator belt based on parts diagrams... I believe (but would need to check my Haynes) that the alternator is shaft/gear-driven on the front or back face of the engine block... Or as Ron states - internal.
Thanks! The alternator is mounted on/directly driven by the crankshaft, behind the crankcase. Pics at post #9 of this thread: https://www.r1200gs.info/threads/alternator-problem.32617/
Find the coolant pump -- the hose to the radiator will be attached to it.After we've answered this question, I'm looking for replacement rad hoses for my Volkswagen Beetle.
