Upgrade low and high beam bulbs

2012 r1200GS,

I want to replace the factory bulbs with brighter bulbs.

What's the consensus from the members on which bulbs to get. HID? Halogen?

H7 I presume like the original bulbs but is there anything to worry about with taxing the electrical system in the upgrades?

I’ll be watching this thread I am in the same boat as you! I find the stock headlight to be pretty weak sauce.

I have upgraded all previous Beemers including my current 2012 1200 gs (like yours) with CYCLOPS LED LIGHTS. This includes the LED parking bulb for a perfect setup. No issues with wiring, it's plug and play with clear instructions.
