Ham radio

With a post on getting a Ham station at the Rally in Ohio, I ask who runs ham radio on their bike and what type, HT or Mobile?
I am making the decision of which, HT or a Mobile, (TH6 or the FT8800).

HAM Radio on the bike - HT for me!

Hi,
I just purchased a VX7r for my R1150RT so I don't have to worry about weather. I also purchased an antenna mount for the rear and still looking for the best PTT button holder.

Bob,
Where do you plan to put the radio? On the handlebars, in the glovebox, or under the seat? For headset/PTT look to MotoComm.

Radio spot

Hi Kenny,
I plan to put the radio on a RAM mount on the handlebars. I am going to work on it a bit on Monday so I'll let you know how it goes.

I'll check out Motocomm for the PTT button - thanks for the tip.

Bob
