Where does this bolt go?

Does anyone know where this shoulder bolt goes? I took the left fairing and oddments compartment off to replace a switch but left it apart for too long, now can't remember where it goes. Might be air duct to oddments bolt? I was also working on the clutch lever switch.

This is a 2000 R1100RT.

Thanks

Just a guess, but did you remove the fuel tank? That could be a bolt for holding a forward tank rubber bushing mount.

Thank's but no, I didnt remove the tank. The only screws I took from the tank are the ones holding on the oddments tray (glovebox).

No help, but I'm on my 3rd oilhead and I just don't recognize that piece. :scratch
It looks like an attaching point for something to hang from...
Is the blue stuff Loctite?
Does the outer disk take an Allen key or a Torx?
The section between the disk and the threads may be a bushing for a larger hole (like maybe one of the Dzus locations below the seat).
I looked up "oddment"... Webster sez it means "something left over"... ironic!

Thanks for trying, it's a M5 thread and a 4mm Allen socket. That is blue loctite on the threads. I went through the entire parts catalog, frame by frame and couldn't find it. Starting to think maybe there was something in my parts container before I started to take things apart.

It would be nice to search using the dimensions somehow. That would narrow the possibilities down.

Did you work on a coil? See image, Item 5 in image part number 12 13 2 306 157 looks like a good match but no spec's. Did you work on the inner cover cover, see image. Item 3 is and M5 w/ shoulder parB0000301.pngB0003236.pngB0003236.pngt number 18 30 7 716 867.

The coil screw looks like a definite maybe, but I think the fiche (or its picture?) is just wrong about the inner fairing screw - mine were always just the "Long" version of fairing screws.

Yah, went nowhere near the coil. I was replacing the clutch lever interlock switch on the left handlebar grip and feeding the wire behind the glovebox, so that's the only part that came off besides the left side plastic. But that's very close to the shape of the bolt.

I found this picture on the Cross Country Cycle website -
