What bike would make this a Christmas to remember?

I could go for a red F650 GS such as Mika posted, but with a view to light weight, simplicity, and a minimalist budget, I like the Suzuki DR 650. To wit:

I'll gladly take that 500cc Manx Norton single (with bevel gear driven overhead cam) when you put the more modern engine in that Featherbed frame!

My favorite description of those beasts with the open megaphone pipes was that they "make small children explode".
