Upgrading my bikes from the current Garmin 220 and cradles - options?

I'm preparing to get back to riding this year, after several years away from it.

Two of my bikes (the K and the F) are equipped with Garmin 220 cradles. The actual 220 is in a box around here somewhere.

I assume that the 220 is obsolete.

What are my options?

Is any current or recent Garmin device compatible with these cradles?

Or should I just bite the bullet, and upgrade the cradles to a current device? That's a bit of an annoyance, especially since that would be the third cradle installed on the K. (The first one was one of the early BMW Navigators, which went obsolete and eventually died.)

If the latter, what do people recommend? Garmin, Tom Tom, or other device? I don't know if a current BMW Navigator's cradle is compatible with my bikes.

I do have a smartphone, but I'm not sure that I want to use it for this duty.

Garmin Zumo XT! It outperforms BMW Navigators and tech wise is an upgrade over the Navigators. Plus, it's several hundred dollars cheaper. I doubt your 220 cradles would work.
