Fitting Garmin 595 in OEM Space

First off I just purchased and took delivery on a '18 RTW...Love it so far......BUT

But here is my problem..... I have a Garmin 595LM that I have had for maybe 4-5 years, actually know how to find stuff on it, so I don't really want to change. The RT came equipped with a cradle/mount up at top of dash in the little cubbie hole made for GPS. The mount that is there looks identical to the mount I currently use for the 595, but the device will not fit into the area just a schosh too big.

I wouldn't think I'm the first person with this problem, so what are my options....really don't want to shell out more money on another GPS device.

Will the 595 fit the BMW cradle? I know it won't work via the wheel

Is there enough wire to move the existing OEM cradle out 1/2-3/4 inch so device will mount up?

Or is rewiring in 595 cradle best option, cradle has comm wires that are not needed(bluetooth) is there space to hide these?

First of all, congratulations on your new scoot! If you're even half as delighted with yours as I am with mine you'll be a happy man indeed.

I don't know specifically about the 595 but my Zumo 660 fits in the cradle and works like a champ. I would suggest inspecting the back of your 595 vs. the mounting on the bike. If the terminals and the retention points align, I'd give it a try.

Good luck!

I have both a 660 and a 595. The retention points and terminals are not the same.:banghead
