Unable to Get my Toe Under the Gear Lever (R1200 GS)

I purchased new boots (Forma Terra Evo), and I'm unable to get my toe under the gear shift lever (2018 R1200 GS). Yes, I adjusted it up as much as possible, but I still can't get my toe under the lever. What have other's done?

Edit: I do have FastWay footpegs in the lower position too.

Do the Fastways move the peg rearward as well as downward? I had a similar issue on my 2018 GS and ended up installing pegs from Suburban Machine, which dropped the pegs over an inch but little if any rearward change—which I would have liked with my size 13s. I rush-ordered the pegs after the cramped footpeg quarters had me inadvertently passing the vehicle next to me with my front wheel in the air when I accidentally triggered a 1-2 shift leaving a light. So yeah, you do want some room…

Best,
DeVern

Don't want imply you missed something, but when you say you adjusted it up, did you both rotate the toe piece and shorten the lever to transmission shift linkage?

I shortened the linkage, but there’s no way to rotate the toe piece for better access.

You can get a shift lever extension. It slips over the shifter end and makes it longer. I have used one since my 15 RT.

Touratech Lower Foot Pegs helped me on my F850 GSA and when I sold that I transfered them to my R1250 GS.

Suburban Machine and other companies have been selling foot peg lowering kits for many years. The results have not resulted in mass carnage. Most riders understand their limits and abide by them.
I've got those lowering pegs on my 11RT and I have to really to be trying to touch the pegs down to where they scrape. 3/8" chicken strips don't have the lowered pegs touching down. Same with the lowering kit on the 16RS, gotta really be hammering the twisties to get one to touch down.

I agree with Brownie0486 and Paul. I have the Suburban Machine on my 22R1250RT and I'm not touching the pavement, see my chicken strip. FYI I love riding in Arkansas.
