I got 21k miles on my first set of Dunlop Trailmax Mission on my 2023 R1250 GS. Much of the time carrying up to 70lbs of camping gear. Tread was not yet at the wear bar but getting close. Since I was planning a 1500 miles trip I went ahead and bought a new set. I ran 36 front and 42 rear, +/-1 psi accuracy I think (my pencil gauge, Dewalt portable air compressor and BMW TFT all vary over about a 2-3 psi spread.I run Dunlop Trailmax Missions on my '21 GSA, they are quite stiff and bias ply vs radials. I run pressures a little lower than the 36/42 specified for the radials that come with the bike. I'm running 32/38 right now. I got over 14k miles on the last set running these pressures. No negative effects noted so far.
, and the ride is a little better.
What would you say the ratio of street vs dirt was?I got 21k miles on my first set of Dunlop Trailmax Mission on my 2023 R1250 GS. Much of the time carrying up to 70lbs of camping gear. Probably 80% on the highways in AZ, UT, CO, NM, WY, NV getting to areas where I would camp down packed dirt and gravel roads. And riding on packed dirt and gravel BLM and FS roads that were up to 50 miles long. So around 20% off pavement. What would you say the ratio of street vs dirt was?
I wouldn't change it. Seems fine to me but if you do, don't go over the tire manufacturer's recommended maximum inflation.I’ve been running 36/42.5 in Dunlop Roadsmart 4 tires for the last year on my ‘24 1300 GS. I got 10,500 km (6,524miles) out of them ..which doesn't seem like a lot of miles to me.
Quite a few of those miles were with panniers and a top box, fully loaded, no passenger.
I’m about to go for a 10 day ride to B.C and back…anyone got any thoughts/suggestions on tire pressures?
