Taking of a side stand (kickstand0

Question.... how do you take off the hex screw that hold the side stand (kick stand)to the bike? Got the bolt in the back off but and for the life of me take out the hex screw. Reason being I've lowered the bike and now need to put on a shorter side stand (kick stand). Need advice.... thanks

Welcome to the forum! It would be very helpful if you could give us the model and year of your bike. Procedures are probably different for different model bikes.
